UPDATE – DriveBC indicates the estimated time for the highway to reopen is 7:00 p.m. A utility pole has to be replaced.
There is a detour route for passenger vehicle traffic via Goudie Road.
A spokesperson for FortisBC says power is expected to be restored to 487 customers in the area by about 3:00 p.m
NEAR KELOWNA- (11:30 a.m.) The crash of a large transport truck has closed Highway 33 east of Kelowna.
Police say a semi-trailer, believed to be hauling wood chips, rolled over near Daves Road.
That’s near Eight Mile Ranch.
A hydro pole was sheared off and wires are laying across the highway.
Fortis BC crews are making repairs.
The truck driver is reported to be okay.
