Surrey RCMP look for witnesses after suspicious item found at gas station

Mounties say someone left a suspicious item at a gas station in Surrey and they want to speak to any witnesses.

It happened at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday at the Petro Can Service Station located near 152nd St. and King George Bld.

Police received a call from an employee who found a suspicious item beside the station.

When police arrived, the suspicious item was located and the area was cordoned off.

The Explosive Demolition Unit had to attend and deal with the device.

Surrey RCMP are asking anyone who may have seen anyone that may have been hanging around the Petrocan station or dropped something off near the side of the building to call the Surrey R.C.M.P. at 604-599-0502 or to call Crime Stoppers.
