CALGARY – There was a massive emergency response in the community of Somerset on Wednesday when a single family home caught fire.
Crews were called to a home along Somerset Drive S.W. around 6 p.m.
The fire was mostly contained to the rear of the home, but there was water damage throughout.
The homeowner said he was barbequing when the fire sparked. He indicated that he had all four burners on his BBQ cranked in order to clean it, because he hadn’t used it in a while.
No one was hurt, but the homeowner suggested his bird was still inside the home at the time of the fire.
