A teacher in Louisville, Kentucky is facing a fourth-degree assault charge after cameras caught her dragging a student down a school hallway in October.
Ashley Silas says the six-year-old student from Brooks Elementary School was misbehaving and threatening another student. He refused to walk to the principal’s office.

Investigators say Silas dragged the student almost 160 feet (nearly 50 metres).
Silas was immediately fired by the Bullitt County superintendent, but was reinstated with a seven week suspension without pay after she appealed her dismissal.
According to Silas, the student seemed to enjoy the attention he was getting.
The child’s parents are outraged and has challenged Silas’ story. They say the school was aware of their son’s ADHD condition for which he cannot take medication due to their side effects.
A judge is expected to review the assault charge this week before the case can proceed.
