VANCOUVER – Facebook will be holding an information session in Coquitlam today to teach small business owners in the Lower Mainland how to use the social network to increase their presence online.

Facebook’s Small Business Boost will be co-hosted by Michael Hind, executive director of the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce and will include speakers such as the Honourable Kerry-Lynne D. Findlay, P.C., Q.C., Minister of National Revenue and MP for Delta—Richmond East. Local business owners who have found success with Facebook will also be speaking.

This event is part of a roadshow in B.C., which ranked first in Canada in terms of small businesses per capita in 2013.

British Columbia small businesses also generated approximately 31 per cent of the province’s gross domestic product in 2013, well above the Canadian average of 29 per cent.
