Fitness model Greg Plitt was shooting video when he was struck, killed by train

TORONTO — Fitness model and reality TV star Gregory Plitt was shooting a video for his website when he was struck and killed by a train last Saturday.

The 37-year-old’s friend Warren Coulter told the Los Angeles Times on Monday that Plitt tripped while trying to get “action shots.”

Plitt, who appeared on the reality series Work Out and had small roles in movies and on TV, was hit by a train near the Burbank Metrolink Station.

Officials with the commuter train service said Plitt and his crew did not have permits to be on the tracks. The train’s engineer saw the men on the track, sounded the horn and applied the emergency brakes.

Police have seized the video footage as part of their investigation into the incident.

Plitt has small roles in Grudge Match and Terminator: Salvation and appeared on several episodes of Days of Our Lives.

A public memorial for Plitt is scheduled for Saturday in Los Angeles.

Last year, a crew person was killed on train tracks in Georgia while working on the film Midnight Rider.
