Toronto ends extreme cold weather alert

TORONTO- The Extreme Cold Weather Alert has ended in Toronto.

The termination prompts the closure of drop-ins centres.

The low on Tuesday night was -13 degrees Celsius without the wind chill.

The city’s Medical Officer of Health issues the alerts when Environment Canada forecasts that overnight temperatures will reach -15 degrees Celsius or colder.
