TORONTO — Chewbacca is ill.
Peter Mayhew, who plays the hirsute sidekick to Harrison Ford’s Han Solo in Star Wars, is in hospital battling pneumonia.
The 70-year-old actor’s wife Angie Mayhew said Monday he is expected to make a full recovery.
“Doctors are incredibly happy with his improvement,” she wrote in a Reddit post.

The 7’3″ British actor, who has lived in Texas for many years, had double knee replacement surgery in 2013.
Mayhew reprised his Wookie role for the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is due in cinemas in December.
