RCMP in Claresholm are investigating an armed robbery at the CIBC. Police were called to the branch around 3:30pm Friday afternoon. They say a man entered the bank, produced a black pistol and demanded money from the teller.

The suspect fled in a silver Volkswagon Jetta and left the area in an unknown direction.

He is described as Caucasian, six feet tall with a thin build,  a trimmed beard and light coloured skin. He was wearing a thin black jacket, dark coloured skinny legged pants, a black toque and dark oversized sunglasses with blue arms. He was also wearing black gloves that were described as sparkly or bejewelled.

It is believed that the suspect is responsible for bank robberies on December 19 in High River and at the TD Bank on Mayor Magrath Drive South in Lethbridge on January 13.
