Dallas scoreboard pokes fun at Winnipeg again during Jets-Stars game

WINNIPEG – The folks who run the Dallas Stars’ scoreboard have learned a bit about Winnipeg – but they’re still ready to make jokes at our expense.

The American Airlines Centre scoreboard in Dallas featured a followup Thursday to a list of “Top 10 reasons to visit Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada” displayed during the Dec. 9 Jets-Stars game. The December list included items such as “4. Time to do a Google search …” and “7. Ever been to a Tim Hortons?”

Thursday’s list was titled “Things we’ve learned about Winnipeg since we last played them.” The first four were facts about the Manitoba province, but the fifth and final item on the list was “5. Winnipeg doesn’t take jokes very well.”

But there were plenty in Winnipeg enjoying the fun.

In the end, Winnipeg had the last laugh with a 2-1 victory, thanks to Ondrej Pavelec’s show-stealing goaltending:
