An armed man who took hostages in a suburban Paris post office has reportedly surrendered to police.

Police say the incident – in the suburb of Colombes – was not terror related.

A journalist on the scene says the man gave himself up to police and that the hostages have been freed. There were no injuries.

Agence France-Presse reports two people were held.  Police have told local media that the suspect is known to police and may be mentally ill.
