Watermain break partially closes Bathurst near St. Clair

TORONTO – Bathurst Street is partially closed south of St. Clair as a result of a watermain break early Friday morning.

Just one southbound lane is open to traffic. City crews are on scene to cap the leak.

Another watermain break earlier this week turned a Toronto street into a small ski hill on one of the coldest days of the year.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

An underground pipe burst around 5 a.m. Tuesday on Leslie Street north of Finch Avenue East sending water spraying all over the roadway.

It took crews all morning to clear the ice and snow which accumulated on the ground.
