Three male suspects attempt liquor store robbery in Nanaimo

Nanaimo RCMP are looking for three male suspects who attempted to rob a liquor store, fired a sawed off shotgun and discharged bear spray on an employee on Saturday.

Police were on the scene minutes after the incident at the Terminal Park BC Liquor Store but the suspects had already fled the store. Their investigation showed the three males ran west towards Poplar Street before getting into a vehicle.

The employee hit with the bear spray did not require any medical attention and there were no customers in the liquor store at the time of the robbery.

The three men are described as: suspect 1 with the shotgun — 5’5″ tall, red bandana, red hoodie, black sweat pants, medium build, race unknown; supsect #2 — 5’7″ to 5’9″ tall, black hoodie, dark pants, sunglasses, white bandana, race unknown; and suspect 3 with the bear spray — 5’8″ to 5’10” tall, red hoodie under black nylon jacket, white bandana, white track pants, race unknown.
