REGINA – Former linebackers coach Greg Quick was named defensive co-ordinator of the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Monday.

Quick, who has spent 30 years coaching at the pro and college levels, served as linebackers coach for the Montreal Alouettes in 2014. He spent two seasons as linebackers coach with the Toronto Argonauts before joining the Northwood University Timberwolves as offensive co-ordinator in 2012.

Quick succeeds Richie Hall, who spent four years as the team’s defensive co-ordinator. Hall remains on the team’s coaching staff but it’s unclear what his role for next season might be.

Saskatchewan finished third in the West Division last season with a 10-8 record and lost to Edmonton in the division semifinal.

The Riders plan to announce the rest of the coaching staff in early February, the team said in a release.
