MONTREAL — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying an armed suspect involved in a dozen bank robberies in the Montreal area.

The spate of robberies began in the summer of 2014, with the last one taking place in a financial institution on Greene Avenue in Westmount on Jan. 6.

During the heists, police said the 40-45-year-old man was armed with a gun that he would show to bank cashiers.

Montreal police are looking for a husky white male, possibly of Middle Eastern origin, who is about 1.83 metres (6 feet) tall. He has very short brown hair, speaks French and English, and was wearing eyeglasses during the robberies.

Anyone with details about the suspect is asked to call 9-1-1 or Info-Crime Montreal at 514 393-1133. Information will be treated anonymously and confidentially.
