Man dead following head-on collision south of Grande Prairie

EDMONTON — One man is dead after a head-on collision between two trucks south of Grande Prairie.

Emergency crews were called to the collision on Highway 40 near the Cutbank River around 7:45 a.m. Sunday. The area is located about 80 kilometres south of Grande Prairie.

Police say two trucks collided head-on; one of the drivers was killed in the collision. The other driver was not seriously injured.

Highway 40 has been shut down to traffic in both directions as officers conduct their investigation. At this time it’s not known when the highway will reopen.

The identity of the victim is not being released.
