SASKATOON – A woman who failed to return to a psychiatric hospital after checking herself out has been arrested. Carmelle Carleton, 41, was arrested by Saskatoon police on Thursday.
Carleton had signed herself out of the Saskatchewan Hospital in North Battleford, Sask. and was reported missing to RCMP when she failed to return at a scheduled time. Mounties then issued a warrant for her arrest.
She had previously been charged with an offence involving a youth under the age of 14. Investigators believed there may have been a risk she would re-offend.
