Grieving families call for changes to road where sons were killed in crash

Two Calgary families who are grieving the loss of their sons are calling for changes to the road where they were killed in a tragic crash.

The truck Jordan Fish and Nathan Wack were travelling in, went over an embankment northwest of Cochrane last weekend. The two young men were killed. The driver of the truck survived but was injured.

Wack’s father says the road is too dangerous and needs an upgrade.

The road is considered remote and is on government land but is leased by TransAlta.

Gary Woods with TransAlta says the electricity company is now conducting an internal review.

“Once we understand some options we would consider guard rails, a fence, other options that come out of the process.”

The truck the three men were travelling in plunged 100 metres to a creek bed below, near the Ghost Resevoir.

The trio was winter camping in the area.
