Okanagan ski hills have seen difficult times in recent years. A sluggish economy and a lack of snow were big contributing factors. However, this season things are looking up in both areas and business is booming once again at local resorts.
Apex Mountain Resort saw more skier visits over the holidays than ever before.
“This has been an awesome Christmas season at the resort, we have set records for the most skier visits in Apex’s history,” says James Shalman, Apex Mountain Resort General Manager.
Silver Star Mountain Resort reports similar statistics, with the most snow it’s had in recent history, increased destination visits from the international market and full occupancy at the resort over the holidays.
Big White Ski Resort also reported record tourism numbers over the holiday season.
