WATCH: Panda cub enjoys first snow day

Bao Bao, the 16-month-old panda cub at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., experienced her first snow day Tuesday.

Although the zoo was closed to visitors due to the weather, some of the animals were able to enjoy the snow.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Much like any other child on a snow day, Bao Bao frolicked outdoors and slid down trees to the delight of her fans.

In a video released by the zoo, the roly-poly bear tumbles down a snowy hill and pounces on her mom, Mei Xiang.

On Christmas day, Bao Bao made headlines for coming down from a tree 24 hours after she had climbed up due to a scare.

Photos posted to the zoo’s Facebook page show seals, lions and tigers also enjoyed the wintry weather.
