MONTREAL — Defenceman Bryan Allen cleared waivers and was assigned to the Hamilton Bullldogs of the American Hockey League, the Montreal Canadiens announced Tuesday.
The Canadiens acquired Allen from the Anaheim Ducks last November for forward Rene Bourque.

The 34-year-old had one assist in five games for Montreal.
Allen has played 721 career NHL regular season games for Montreal, Anaheim, Carolina, Florida and Vancouver.
