KELOWNA — RCMP have recovered four of the six snowmobiles stolen from the Kelowna area.
Back on December 23rd, a family from Saskatchewan reported a total of six snowmobiles stolen along with their pick-up truck and trailer.
The theft generated a lot of publicity. It also generated a lot of police tips.
RCMP say that while acting on a tip from the public, RCMP tracked down the sleds to a residence on Marron Valley Road in Penticton where four of the sleds along with the truck and trailer were recovered.
So far, no arrests have been made.
Two of the snowmobiles reported stolen are still missing.
Owner, Grant Forrster, says the truck and trailer are a write-off but the sleds are in surprisingly good condition. All of the snow gear including helmets are gone.
The family that owns the equipment was visiting relatives when the theft occurred.
