SASKATOON – Two men are set to appear before a judge after an armed robbery Sunday evening in Saskatoon. Police say it happened at a business in the 1900-block of Lorne Avenue around 7:50 p.m.

Officers were alerted to the robbery after staff called 911 and said a man had entered the convenience store armed with a knife and demanded tobacco products. A second man was waiting for him in a getaway car.

Responding officers located the abandoned car. The pair were tracked to a nearby home by a canine unit and arrested.

A 28-year-old man is charged with armed robbery and disguise with intent to commit an indictable offense. A 30-year-old man is charged with accessory after the fact and public mischief.

Both are scheduled to appear in provincial court Monday afternoon.
