Firefighters spent Saturday evening battling a fire that sparked in a basement in the 200 block of Polson Avenue.
Crews were dispatched to the scene around 5 o-clock for reports of smoke in the home.
Four people escaped from the flames without injuries.
The platoon chief says when crews arrived the smoke and flames were coming from the basement and crews managed to confine the fire to that area.
“Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire in the basement. The cause is under investigation right now. Investigators are on scene and we have no damage estimate right now,” Platoon Chief Doug Martin said Saturday evening.
