CALGARY- A 21-year-old woman was taken to Foothills Hospital Friday after being involved in a serious two vehicle collision north of Magrath, Alberta on Highway 5.
Emergency crews responded to the crash around 8:45 a.m.
RCMP say one of the vehicles in the collision crossed the center line colliding head-on with a vehicle traveling the opposite direction.
Initial investigation suggests that weather and road conditions were factors in this collision.
There was one person in each vehicle.
The other vehicle’s occupant was taken to the Raymond Hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Highway 5 was closed during the investigation and has since been re-opened.
Road conditions on Highway 5 are still poor in spots south of Lethbridge and drivers are urged to use caution if traveling in the area.
The crash is still under investigation.
