KELOWNA – Rourke Chartier’s red hot season with the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets hasn’t gone unnoticed. The 18-year-old forward is leading the league and the entire CHL in goals with 35 in 32 games.

Now the big show has come calling. Chartier has inked an entry level deal with the San Jose Sharks who drafted him 149th overall in the 2014 NHL Draft.

“Rourke is having a tremendous season and has become one of the premiere goal scorers in the Canadian junior leagues,” says Sharks General Manager, Doug Wilson. “He has taken his offensive game to a new level this season and plays a very complete game in all three zones. We look forward to watching his steady development.”
