TORONTO – The year 2014 is drawing to a close and York Regional Police want the public to know there are plenty of “suites” available for New Year’s Eve partygoers.
Police say rooms start at $10,000, including legal fees, 24-hour video surveillance, stainless steel appliances and free shuttle service.
Reservations are also not required with handcuffs provided free of charge.
The barely one-star accommodations are part of a social media campaign warning people to refrain from drinking and driving on New Year’s Eve.
York police have created the hashtag #reservationsnotrequired on Twitter, as well as posting photographs of prison cells.
Police want to encourage people to also call 9-1-1 if they spot an impaired driver.
