26-year-old faces 11 charges in Ottawa Boxing Day mall shooting

OTTAWA – A man faces several firearms charges following a Boxing Day shooting incident at an Ottawa mall.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was treated at hospital after being shot in the foot outside the Tanger Outlet Mall.

Police have said the incident was a targeted shooting and involved members of the same gang.

The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit says it arrested and charged Yaqoub Ali, 26, of Ottawa on Tuesday.

Police say he faces a slew of charges, all firearms offences.
