Police need help identifying hit-and-run vehicle and driver

CALGARY- Police are asking the public for help identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run on Macleod Trail.

Investigators say a pedestrian was crossing Macleod Trail at 39 Ave. S just before 2 a.m. on Dec. 21 when they was struck by a southbound vehicle.

The pedestrian was thrown about 20 meters.

Police say the vehicle did not attempt to brake or stop following the colision.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The vehicle is described as a white, 1996-1998 Pontiac Grand AM, with significant damage to its front-end. The first letters of the license plate are BD.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police.
