TORONTO — Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Hugh Jackman are on the Forbes list of the top-grossing actors of 2014 — and it’s thanks to a movie they made in Canada.

All four stars appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past, which was shot in Montreal and earned $746 million at the worldwide box office.

Lawrence topped the Forbes list, published on Boxing Day, with movies (X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1) grossing a combined $1.4 billion.

McAvoy, Fassbender and Jackman are ranked 8th, 9th and 10th respectively.

Following Lawrence is Chris Pratt, whose The LEGO Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy made $1.2 billion, followed by Scarlett Johansson with $1.18 billion from Captain America: Winter’s Soldier, Lucy and Under the Skin.

Emma Stone (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Magic in the Moonlight, Birdman) and Angelina Jolie (Maleficent) are ranked 6th and 7th by Forbes.

The magazine compiled its list using total box office earnings for each star’s movies released in 2014.

Forbes did not explain how it decided which actors to include in the survey.

Using its formula, Stanley Tucci is the year’s top-grossing actor. His three films — The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Mr. Peabody & Sherman — earned more than $2 billion.

Channing Tatum should be on the list in 5th place because his four 2014 movies, including The LEGO Movie and 22 Jump Street, made a combined $897 million.
