UPDATE: All warnings mentioned in this story have ended
SASKATOON – Saskatchewan had its fair share of mild temperatures in December, but all good things must come to an end. Environment Canada issued an extreme cold weather warning Saturday afternoon as it anticipates an arctic airmass taking grip of the entire province.
Meteorologists are tracking a ridge of high pressure that is ushering frigid arctic air into the Prairies. Temperatures are expected to fall below minus 30 with wind chill values dipping past minus 43 over Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
