CALGARY – A 68-year-old Calgary man was killed in a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway on Christmas Day.

The crash happened at the intersection with Range Road 281, east of Chestermere.

RCMP say a vehicle travelling northbound on Range Road 281 collided with an eastbound vehicle on Highway 1.

The driver of the northbound vehicle, a 68 year old male from Calgary, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the lone occupant in that vehicle.

Two people in the eastbound vehicle were assessed on scene by EMS but didn’t require any medical attention.

Police say neither alcohol or speed were factors in the collision, and it’s not anticipated any charges will be laid.
