SASKATOON – A fundraising video released Sunday aims to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan (CHF). Tunetown Sasaktoon brought together 18 musicians and local businesses to create a Christmas medley video.

A “50’s NERF-gun Christmas” was written by local musicians Jesse Weiman and Ches Anthony. The aim was to bring together local musicians to raise awaremness about community issues.

“By featuring over 18 Saskatoon musicians in the medley and involving several businesses, including the landmark Broadway Cafe, we have truly created a local project,” said Weiman.

The video was produced and directed by Weiman’s brother Jody of Saskatoon’s Strike Films.

“The tone of the scene was simply built for a 50’s-themed Christmas,” said Jody. “And the NERF guns … well that just happened. Shooting the video was so much fun – everyone had a great time.”

The music video is accompanied by a fundraising campaign to support the CHF. Organizers hope it will inspire $2,000 worth of donations from the community.

Last year, Tunetown’s first fundraising video, “Happy Xmas (War Is Over),” raised more than $2,300 for the hospital currently under construction.
