Okanagan Forecast:  Rain/Snow Returns Tuesday

Weather update: Monday December 22nd 4:15pm

Just a few more sleeps until Santa arrives! A system will return Tuesday bringing rain and snow to the region.  With freezing levels staying above valley base until Christmas Day, the chance of a White Christmas remains slim for areas near the lake.

With that said, a few flurries are possible Tuesday morning, but most of the precip will all turn to rain by the afternoon for lower elevations in the Okanagan Valley.  Columbia regions will see slightly lower freezing levels and there is the chance for the snow to remain.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

We will see partial clearing on Wednesday afternoon in the wake of the system, and a drier and cooler northwesterly flow will be in place for Christmas Day on Thursday so breaks of sun will be possible.

A low will move into the Southern Interior late Friday and Saturday, bringing us a chance of snow.
