REGINA – The retail dash is on as shoppers try to check off their gift lists before Christmas on Thursday.
“It’s crazy busy. People are out shopping for last-minute gifts,” said Carlee Bard, marketing director at Northgate Mall.
Thousands flocked to the nearly 50-year-old mall Saturday afternoon.
A recent poll found that those in Saskatchewan and Manitoba procrastinate more than other Canadians when it comes to holiday shopping.
“I just find it a little bit more exciting when you wait until the last day, just the rush of everybody running around,” said Diana Liberet at the Regina Farmers Market’s last day of the year.
The poll also found Saskatchewanians and Manitobans spend the least, something Liberet saw connecting to our aforementioned procrastination.
“Because we wait until the last minute to get the good deals,” she said.
