SICAMOUS, B.C. – There has been another sled theft, this time in Sicamous. Police are on the lookout for the snowmobile that was stolen from a Forest Service road Tuesday evening.
“The sled apparently suffered a mechanical malfunction and had to be left there for several hours in order for the owner to arrange for transport,” says Constable Kris Clark with Southeast District RCMP. “Upon his return, the owner discovered that his sled was no longer there.”
He says RCMP received the report of the missing sled from the 5 km mark of the Owl Head Forest Service Road near Sicamous on Wednesday morning. The snowmobile is described as a black and yellow 2013 Ski-doo Summit. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
This theft comes a week after an RCMP bait car and bait sled were stolen from a Kelowna hotel. Out of town officers were in the city for a press conference about their bait vehicle program, which was to be held just hours after their vehicles were stolen.
