UPDATED: Lost hunter found in Scots Bay during storm

HALIFAX – RCMP and search and rescue crews found a lost hunter around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, after searching for over nine hours outside in the rain and cold weather.

Police received a 911 call about the 60-year-old Port Williams man around 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

The man apparently went rabbit hunting with his dog at 9 a.m. but could not find his way back due to darkness.

Search and rescue teams from Kings County, Hants West and Annapolis County were called to assist with the search. Teams from Clare, Digby, Canning and Port Williams also assisted in the search.

RCMP say he did not sustain any injuries during the ordeal.
