VERNON – A Vernon man has been charged with three animal cruelty related charges.
Acting on a complaint, the SPCA says an investigator visited the man’s home and found two dogs, shih tzu crosses, allegedly in very poor condition.
One, an older dog, was voluntarily surrendered and later euthanized.
The animal protection agency issued an order that the other dog be groomed and inspected by a veterinarian.
The owner was also ordered to clean his residence of dog feces and provide more food to his remaining pet.
Brian Jacobson returns to court in January on charges of causing unnecessary pain or suffering to an animal, failing to provide necessaries and causing an animal to be in distress.
