EDMONTON — It’s been a deadly stretch on Alberta’s highways. Two days after a head-on crash killed three temporary foreign workers, two collisions on Monday killed three other people.

The latest happened around 12:30 p.m., on Highway 43 and Range Road 80 in the Lac. Ste. Anne County. Mayerthorpe RCMP say a southbound Dodge pick-up truck allegedly failed to yield and crossed into the path of a westbound Ford pick-up.

A man and woman inside the Dodge died in the crash, and the driver of the other truck was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Weather and road conditions may have played a role in the collision, according to RCMP.

At 7:30 a.m., a man in his 40s was killed after he crossed the centre line and collided with a commercial service truck. Alcohol, weather and road conditions are not believed to have been factors.
