CALGARY- It’s a long-time tradition for the Calgary Fire Fighters Association at Christmas to help the city’s less fortunate during the holidays.
Hundreds of fire personnel and retired firefighters volunteered to wrap gifts and host the annual kids Christmas party at the Stampede grounds Sunday.
Nearly 2000 families, 4000 children were invited to enjoy “The Cappy Smart Band”, decorate the floor of the Corral and even meet Santa!
More than 4000 toys were donated this year.
It’s been a Christmas tradition for the Calgary Fire Fighters Toy Association since 1945. Back in the day, firefighters use to repair old toys and spend hours getting them ready for the kids.
