Christmas Wish Breakfast delivers toys and talent

WATCH: Nine-year-old Tyson Venegas stole the show at the 2014 Christmas Wish Breakfast with his rendition of “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.

The 27th annual Christmas Wish Breakfast brought plenty of people to the Pan Pacific Hotel in downtown Vancouver on Thursday, who were rewarded for their donations with a free meal and plenty of outstanding performances.

Chris Bayliss, executive director of the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau, says seven truck loads of toys weight 40,000 pounds were hauled away. That’s two more trucks, and 12,000 more pounds than in 2013.

In addition, 467 bikes and $17,000 in cash were donated, along with 138 gift cards – which Bayliss says is especially appreciated, because it shows people understand teenagers need gifts too.
