Police identify three people killed in head-on collision in Penniac, N.B.

PENNIAC, N.B. – Police have identified three people from New Brunswick who were killed in a head-on collision near Fredericton.

RCMP say 23-year-old Ross King of New England Settlement, 23-year-old Nicholas Fletcher of Durham Bridge and 41-year-old Charlene Lyons of Fredericton died at the scene of the crash on Route 8 in Penniac.

A 19-year-old woman from Fredericton was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The accident between the car and a tractor-trailer occurred shortly after midnight Wednesday.

Police say poor weather conditions are believed to have been factors in the crash.

They are continuing their investigation.
