FREDERICTON – New Brunswick’s government is introducing legislation to establish a new Crown corporation aimed at promoting job creation and economic growth.

Premier Brian Gallant says Opportunities New Brunswick would take over activities previously led by Invest New Brunswick, which he has promised to scrap, and the Department of Economic Development.

Gallant says it is expected to be launched by April 1.

The Liberal government says the corporation would deliver business and investor services to all areas of the province.

It would operate under a private sector board of directors led by a CEO who would be selected through an independent process.
