Weather could break Winnipeg high-temperature records this week

Temperatures in Winnipeg later this week could break records. Global News

After the month of November averaged nearly 4 degrees below normal, a surge of warm air is likely to bring the temperatures in Winnipeg nearly 15 degrees above normal with the potential to break some records.

The week will be overcast to start but Tuesday to Friday will be spent in the sun. The general air flow will come out of the south, which bodes well for warm temperatures for the majority of the province late this week. Even in the far reaches of northern Manitoba, temperatures are likely to get up near the freezing point.

Thursday and Friday will bring the warmest temperatures and potentially record-breakers at that. The current forecast stands to break a record Friday — the current record for that day is 5 C, set back in 1877.
