SASKATOON – Don’t let their name fool you – members of the Juno award-winning band The Sheepdogs are also cat supporters. Band members Sam Corbett and Ryan Gullen took part in a calendar autograph session in support of Scat Street Cat Rescue Saturday afternoon.

The band recently did a photo shoot for the 2015 Men with Cats calendar.

“They ask you to come and take pictures and just pile kitties on top of you, it’s not a very hard thing to convince you to do,” said Cullen.

Corbett said he was inspired to help the cause after he and his girlfriend adopted a cat from the organization.

“When we were filling out the forms they told us about the calendar and said, ‘would you guys be interested in doing that?’ And I told the guys, and they were all in,” Corbett explained.

Calendars can be purchased at Early’s Farm and Garden Centre for $20, along with 20 other sales locations. Proceeds directly benefit feral, sick, injured and homeless cats in Saskatoon.

The Scat Street Cat Rescue program is a volunteer-driven animal welfare agency dedicated to improving and saving the lives of felines.
