WINNIPEG — Hudson the polar bear took a dip in the newly opened Sea Ice Passage for the first time Thursday. The pool is above an underwater tunnel where visitors to the zoo can watch the polar bears swim and play.
Kaska, Aurora, Storm and Hudson have all had time in the exhibit and will be frequently rotated between Gateway to the Arctic and the Churchill Coast exhibit.

The Sea Ice Passage was closed in September when one of the bears chewed through silicone sealant around the tunnel. After repairs, it was reopened in late November with protection in place so the same thing wouldn’t happen again.
