HALIFAX – Motorists filling up at the pumps in Halifax on Friday morning were greeted by the lowest gas prices seen in the area since 2010.
The cost of regular gas dropped by about six cents overnight to $1.076 per litre, while diesel dropped to $1.175 per litre.

It’s a far cry from earlier this year when gas prices across the province were nearing $1.50 per litre.
Plunging gas prices stem from a growing glut of oil flooding the global marketplace.
The price per litre across the country is falling at an uneven rate, however, as regulation and higher taxes in Atlantic Canada typically inflate costs at the pump.
