In the midst of a city-wide power outage in Detroit Tuesday, a local news camera captured an act of kindness that has the city talking.
A camera crew from Fox 2 news in Detroit was recording the evacuation of the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in downtown Detroit when they saw a Wayne County Deputy carrying a woman down the stairs.
According to Fox News 2, the woman suffered from Multiple Sclerosis and likely would have had difficulty navigating the steps on her own.
Picking up on the story, Eyewitness News 3 in Detroit said the outage left the building without working elevators, forcing city employees to use the stairs to evacuate the building.
They say the officer in question carried the woman all the way to her car, which can also be seen in the video.
Neither news outlets identified the officer by name.

The power outage affected several government buildings in Detroit and left some parts of the city without working traffic lights.
Other affected facilities included Joe Louis Arena, home of hockey’s Detroit Red Wings, fire stations and parts of Wayne State University.
Detroit’s public lighting department, which serves areas of the city affected by the outage, said “a major cable failure” caused the grid to lose power.
