EDMONTON – Police say a driver was caught Wednesday after stealing – and then crashing – not one, but two vehicles.

Wednesday morning, Edmonton police were notified about a hit-and-run collision where the driver fled the scene.

As officers were investigating, they received a call about a second crash on Baseline Road and 34 Street. Police determined it was the same driver involved in the first crash.

The RCMP caught the man and arrested him.  The driver was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

EPS traffic investigators are now looking into the case. Police believe the first vehicle was stolen in Edmonton on Nov. 30. The second vehicle was stolen Wednesday, moments before it was involved in the crash.

Charges against the driver are pending.
