Hamilton police say a post-mortem examination has failed to determine a cause of death in connection with human remains found earlier this week.
The remains of a male person were discovered by a passerby Monday in a flood basin in the area of Watercrest Drive and Seabreeze Crescent in Stoney Creek.
Police say further forensic examination of the remains is required.
Investigators have also said that due to the advanced stages of decomposition, a positive identification of the body cannot be made at this time.
They say a DNA examination and analysis will be necessary and it’s expected the tests could take several weeks.
